Poster Rubric

Students whose posters are chosen to be displayed will receive free admission to the Summit. Posters will be judged by an expert panel according to the rubrics below for cash prizes, and by conference attendees for the People’s Choice Award.

  • Clear link to sustainability
  • Creativity and/or originality
  • Poster design is visually appealing and easy to follow
  • Concepts are organized and information is clearly stated
  • Content states research question, has thumbnail literature review, methods, findings and conclusion

Green Design

  • Clear link to sustainability
  • Creativity and/or originality
  • Poster design is visually appealing and easy to follow
  • Potential for practical and scalable impact at the community, campus, or teaching level
  • Inclusion of green design elements – including, but not limited to:
    • Utilizing natural or existing setting/land use
    • Water
    • Landscape
    • Building materials
    • Air quality (indoor emissions)
    • Energy efficiency
    • Renewable energy
    • Energy sources
    • Recycling, re-use (materials and/or waste stream)
    • Relationship with the surrounding community, culture

Sustainability Education & Community Engagement 

  • Clear link to sustainability
  • Creativity and/or originality
  • Poster design is visually appealing and easy to follow
  • Potential for practical and scalable impact at the community, campus, student, or teaching level
